PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems with a conventional retightening device wherein, since a tightening screw part does not act directly on a washer and a tightening nut, a tightening effect cannot be obtained and the weight and size must be increased since the strength of the entire retightening device must be increased. SOLUTION: A device is attached to a screw part of a rod for tightening an object to be tightened for providing a pressing force to the object to be tightened. The device includes: a support member with a through screw hole which is screwed into and fixed to the screw; an elastic body disposed around the support member; a pressing member which receives the pressing force by the elastic body between the support member and itself and which is brought into contact directly or indirectly with the object to be tightened; and a holding part for engaging the support member and the pressing member in a compressed state and disengaging the engagement after the installation. The support member is provided with a bottom which is tightened and fixed directly or indirectly to the object to be tightened through the screw.
