PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively avoid violation of the traffic regulation of the driver of a vehicle beforehand in the technique for announcing the speed limit information of a road to the driver. SOLUTION: A navigation device for a vehicle conducts the steps of: acquiring speed limit information of a road on which the vehicle is traveling, speed limit information of the following road along with a guidance route and ahead of an intersection, and speed limit information of the following road (steps 130, 140) while executing route guidance processing (step 110); announcing, when the vehicle traveling the road arrives at a point for announcing the following road (step 150), the speed limit information of the following road to the driver of the vehicle by an image or sound (step 160); and ending the announcement (step 180) when the vehicle enters the following road (step 170).
