<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and surely prevent the leakage of air in a workroom to the outside of a caisson skeleton, without spending labor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This air leakage prevention equipment comprises: a compressed air supply means (19) for supplying compressed air into the workroom 16; pressure adjusting means (21 and 22) for adjusting compressed air supply pressure of the compressed air supply means; leaked-air detection holes 27a, 27b and 27c which are opened in positions higher than a lower end of a cutting edge 14 in the workroom 16; leaked-air exhaust passages 28a, 28b and 28c which are elongated from the leaked-air detection holes 27a, 27b and 27c and the other ends of which communicate with the atmosphere; leaked-air detecting means (32a, 32b and 32c) for detecting leaked air flowing through the leaked-air exhaust passages 28a, 28b and 28c; and a pressure control means (16) which is connected to the leaked-air detecting means and the pressure adjusting means, which recognizes the water level of groundwater W by receiving information on the presence or absence of the detection of the leaked air with the leaked-air detecting means, and which performs control for making the pressure adjusting means adjust compressed air pressure of the compressed air supply means so that the water level of the groundwater can get close to a preset reference water level (h).
