<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a program for controlling a chemical process, for stably controlling the chemical process in which a reaction is advanced by adding a catalyst while continuously feeding a raw material so that the amount of the raw material to be retained in the reactor is kept within a predetermined range, even when the performance of the catalyst changes due to some disturbance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: At a step S120, it is determined whether such a condition is valid that the catalyst should be additionally fed. When it is determined that the condition is valid, the catalyst is fed at the second time or thereafter (a step S122). The amount x of the catalyst to be fed at the second time or thereafter is decided according to the value of the evaluated activity ratio 'scale' (as a parameter) of the catalyst, and is fed over a required period of time (for example, 0.5 hour).
