摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of high reliability which is obtained, through a simple deposition process, by forming an ion adsorption electrode so that it may not cross existing signal lines. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 100 includes: two substrates 1, 2 which are arranged facing each other via liquid crystal 20; and sealing materials 3 which are arranged in the vicinities of the outer edges of the two substrates 1, 2 and fix the two substrates 1, 2. In the liquid crystal display device 100, the two substrates 1, 2 include; the first substrate 2 having matrix-like scanning signal lines 9 and data signal lines 10, which are all arranged on the surface on the liquid crystal 20 side, and switching elements 8 and pixel electrodes 11, which are all arranged in areas partitioned by the scanning lines 9 and the data signal lines 10; and the second substrate 1 having counter electrodes 4, which are arranged in the areas facing the pixel electrodes 11 on the surface on the liquid crystal 20 side, and ion adsorption electrodes 5 arranged between the counter electrodes 4 and the sealing materials 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
