PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of setting an impact absorbing load upon a secondary collision with a high degree of accuracy by reducing and stabilizing the frictional resistance between a column when collapse-moved and a vehicle body attachment bracket. SOLUTION: A roller 41 of a rolling member 40 interposed between the vehicle body attachment bracket 24 and a slide bracket 23 is configured to rotate while supporting a component force to the upper side of a vehicle body, thereby reducing the frictional resistance that occurs when the slide bracket 23 is collapse-moved to the front side of the vehicle body relative to the vehicle body attachment bracket 24. Since the frictional resistance of this rolling member 40 is small and steady, the influence of the unsteady frictional force can be minimized by impact energy absorption properties.
