PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting facility of articles capable of positively correcting their positional slippage by a delivering roller of a sorting device even when the articles slide on a roller conveyor of a main carrier passage and cause their positional slippage, and to provide a sorting method. SOLUTION: The sorting facility 10 of the articles includes: the main carrier passage 1 consisting of the roller conveyor; a branching carrier passage 2 connected to a side part of the main carrier passage 1; and the sorting device 3 to selectively deliver the articles B to the carrier downstream side of the main carrier passage 1 or the branching carrier passage 2 by switching a direction of the delivering roller 6. It is provided with a detection means 7 to detect the articles B and a control means to increase delivering speed of the articles B by the delivering roller 6 faster than carrying speed by the roller conveyor by increasing the rotating speed of the delivering roller 6 when an actual carrying position of the articles detected by the detection means 7 and a previously set regular carrying position are compared with each other and both of them are slipped off from each other.
