FINISHING AGENT FOR ACRYLIC FIBER FOR PRODUCTION OF CARBON FIBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CARBON FIBER BY USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylic fiber finishing agent for carbon fiber production, capable of establishing compatibility between the weld-prevention of fibers and the stable operation in the production of carbon fiber and free from problems of environment hormones; and to provide a carbon fiber production method to use the agent. SOLUTION: The acrylic fiber finishing agent for carbon fiber production essentially contains an ester compound having three of more ester groups in the molecule and a water-soluble amide compound. The carbon fiber production method includes an application treatment step to apply the acrylic fiber finishing agent for carbon fiber production to the acrylic fiber for carbon fiber production, a flame-proofing step to convert the treated acrylic fiber to a flameproof fiber in an oxidizing atmosphere at 200-300°C, and a carbonization step to carbonize the flameproof fiber by further heating in an inert atmosphere at 300-2,000°C.
