PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinion shaft supporting structure of a rack-and-pinion type steering device, which structure can alleviate the stress concentration generated on a bearing fitting part at a shaft end of a pinion shaft and can eliminate initial-stage compression stress at the shaft end part and improve its fatigue strength. SOLUTION: The pinion shaft supporting structure of the rack-and-pinion type steering device is configured, such that a bearing 15 provided between a rack housing 2, and a periphery of the shaft end of the pinion shaft 3 is fixed in an axial direction with a head part of a bolt 11, which is screwed into the shaft end of the pinion shaft 3.
