<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool which allows positioning accuracy thereof to be easily changed to positioning accuracy designated optionally by a machine tool maker and prevents a machine tool user from changing the positioning accuracy without prior consent to the machine tool maker. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The machine tool has a designated accuracy revision amount storing means 21 for storing a revision amount of designated positioning accuracy about a feed shaft 1 in each preset correction section, and a designated accuracy revision amount outputting means 14 for reading a revision amount of the designated positioning accuracy corresponding to a current position recognized by a position recognizing means 10 and a movement direction recognized by a movement direction recognizing means 11 from the designated accuracy revision amount storing means 21 to output the revision amount of the designated positioning accuracy. It further has a correction amount/revision amount calculating means 25 for calculating the revision amount of the designated positioning accuracy in each correction section on the basis of the designated positioning accuracy set by an designated accuracy setting means 26, an actual measurement position and a target position, and the revision amount of the designated positioning accuracy calculated by the correction amount/revision amount calculating means 25 is stored in the designated accuracy revision amount storing means 21.
