<p>An amorphous sulphate addition product Al(OH)m(SO4)n. H2O where m = 2.2-2.5, n = 0.4-0.25, and sum of m x 1 and n x 2 = 3, the factors 1 and 2 representing the relevant valency charges of the OH and SO4 ions, and x representing no. of mols. H2O of hydration, and being from 3-36. Pref. m is 2.34 and n is 0.33. The addition products can be used as pigments, e.g. for paper fillers, paper coatings, rubber fillers, paper coating agents, etc.</p> |
