Plastics strip is carried round and onto the coiling mandrel by a transport band which passes through the mandrel, is returned and passes out the far side to serve as strip placer. The strip is laid in overlapping turns round the mandrel and is subsequently welded or glued together forming a large diameter flexible tube or sleeve, possibly reinforced with coil springs in the seams. |
