1280750 Polyurethane coating FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER AG 21 Aug 1970 [23 Aug 1969] 40408/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C2 and C3] Substrates such as paper, cardboard, textiles leather, fleeces, wood and metal may be coated with aqueous, emulsifier-free anionic polyurethane dispersions which contain as the polyurethane one prepared by reacting a polyhydroxyl compound having a M.W. of 300 to 20,000, a polyisocyanate and an alkali metal or ammonium salt of a diamino sulphonic acid having the formula: wherein Z and Z' are the same or different alkylene radicals, X represents -CH- when M=O or N when M=1, Z, Z' and X together may represent a cycloalkylene radical, Y represents an alkylene, hydroxyalkylene or hydroxy ether alkylene radical, M represents Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs, NH 4 , NHR' 3 , NH 2 R' 2 or NH 3 R' and R' represents an alkyl radical containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms. The polyurethane containing 0.05 to 8% by weight of SO 3 - groups based on its dry weight. The dispersions dry at room temperature or elevated temperature to form stable coatings. |
