The motor has a stator (24) fastened to a vehicle axle (10), and a rotor arranged at a vehicle rim. The vehicle axle comprises a drum brake with a brake anchor plate and a brake drum (20) at an outer end. The stator is fastened to the anchor plate by an adapter, and radially, outwardly surrounds the brake drum. The rotor comprises a permanent magnet arranged at the vehicle rim. The stator comprises an adapter ring (32) for fastening to the anchor plate. The adapter ring is provided with a centering unit (36) e.g. adjusting screw.
