A light-emissive polymer comprising the following unit:where X is one of S, 0, P and N; Z is N or P; and R is an alkyl wherein one or more non-adjacent C atoms other that the C atom adjacent to Z may be replaced with 0, S, N, C=0 and -COO- or an optionally substituted aryl or heteroaryl group. The above unit may be copolymerized with a triarylamine unit, or R may be a triarylamine unit.
