<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for disposing of CO<SB>2</SB>and a system for recovering methane that enable effective use of CO<SB>2</SB>that may cause global warming and recovery of methane. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The system for disposing of CO<SB>2</SB>and the system for recovering methane are characterized by comprising a CO<SB>2</SB>injection apparatus for injecting CO<SB>2</SB>into an underground void of an abandoned mine, an abandoned oil field and the like, a hydrogen source injection apparatus for injecting a hydrogen source into the underground void and a recovery apparatus for recovering on the ground the methane gas generated by injecting the CO<SB>2</SB>and the hydrogen source from the CO<SB>2</SB>injection apparatus and the hydrogen source injection apparatus respectively to the underground void.
