<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display module allowing reduction of the number of drive elements, and to provide a method for driving the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display module 2 has scan lines S<SB>21</SB>-S<SB>2m</SB>, data lines D<SB>21</SB>-D<SB>2n</SB>, a drive circuit 21, and a level conversion circuit 22. The drive circuit 21 has at least one first drive unit 211 and at least one second drive unit 212 electrically connected thereto. A non-DC signal is sent to the first drive unit 211 and the second drive unit 212 to control operation of the first drive unit 211 and/or the second drive unit 212. The first drive unit 211 outputs first drive signals A<SB>11</SB>-A<SB>1m</SB>to the scan lines S<SB>21</SB>-S<SB>2m</SB>. The second drive unit 212 outputs second drive signals A<SB>21</SB>-A<SB>2n</SB>to the level conversion circuit 22. The level conversion circuit 22 is electrically connected to the drive circuit 21 and the data lines D<SB>21</SB>-D<SB>2n</SB>, and outputs display signals A<SB>31</SB>-A<SB>3n</SB>to the data lines D<SB>21</SB>-D<SB>2n</SB>based on the second drive signals A<SB>21</SB>-A<SB>2n</SB>.
