摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when an inorganic alignment film made of an inorganic material is formed on a surface having projections by oblique vapor deposition, domains having different alignment directions of liquid crystal molecules are generated behind the projections, thereby causing display unevenness and reducing contrast. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A first inorganic alignment film 7 formed by vapor deposition of an inorganic material from an oblique direction and a second inorganic alignment film 8 formed by vapor deposition from an oblique direction which is opposite to the plan view direction are provided on a substrate surface having projections 6. Adjacent areas R1 of the substrate surface in contact with sidewalls W1 of the projections 6 in the direction in which the first inorganic alignment film 7 is formed by vapor deposition are exposed so as to be in contact with a liquid crystal layer 4, whereby the occurrence of the domains is prevented.
