<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a suitable spectral estimated image when the observation condition is changed but the wavelength estimated accuracy is not lowered. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image obtaining apparatus includes a spectral image generating portion 32 for performing the spectral image processing to an image signal output from an imaging element 22 by using an estimated matrix data and obtaining the spectral estimated image signal of the predetermined wavelength, and a memory portion 33 for memorizing the estimated matrix data, and a plurality of estimated matrix data corresponding to various observation conditions of the observation subject is memorized in the memory portion 33, and the observation condition selecting signal for selecting any observation conditions from among the various observation conditions is received in a control portion 35, and the spectral image generating portion 32 reads out the estimated matrix data corresponding to the observation condition in accordance with the observation condition selecting signal received by the control portion 35 from the memory portion 33, and the spectral image processing is performed to the image signal.
