PURPOSE: An illumination device, a coordinate inputting device, an electro-optical device, and an electronic device are provided to simplify an optical location detecting unit, thereby inexpensively compacting the optical location detecting unit. CONSTITUTION: An illumination device comprises the following units. A light guide plate(13) has a light incident surface(13a) on which light is incident and a light emission surface(13e) adjacent to the light incident surface. An illuminating light source faces the light incident surface so that an optical axis faces the light incident surface. A wiring board(12) is expanded along with the light incident surfaces.
