PURPOSE: A burner device and a method thereof are provided to reduce the exhaustion of contaminants like nitrogen oxides by operating a burner assembly without mixing a large amount of fuel gas and combustion air within a burner throat. CONSTITUTION: A burner device comprises a burner assembly(10). The burner assembly comprises a burner tile(18). A burner throat(48) passes through a burner tile. The combustion air is guided through the burner throat to a combustion zone within a furnace. The pilot assembly generates the pilot flame within the burner throat. The combustion gas is guided to an ignition zone(80) which is positioned outside the burner throat and is ignited. The pilot flame generated by the burner throat ignites the fuel gas of the ignition zone.
