PURPOSE: An impact tester is provided to output more accurate test data on the situation where an instant impact is applied and to precisely control the striking position of a specimen according to the size and kind of the specimen. CONSTITUTION: An impact tester comprises a gravity weight(10), a load arm(12), a shaft bracket(14), and a brake unit(20). The load arm is connected to the gravity weight on one end and fitted with a rotating center shaft on the other. The shaft bracket is penetrated by the rotating center shaft of the load arm and supports the load arm from the top and bottom of the load arm. The brake unit prevents the gravity weight bouncing up after free-falling along the rotation track of the load arm to strike the specimen from striking a specimen again.
