PURPOSE: A method for operating a primary ONU and a passive optical network using the same are provided to stack ONUs serially, thereby operating a plurality of ONUs. CONSTITUTION: A primary ONU(Optical Network Unit)(30) is directly connected to an optical line terminator(10) through an optical transceiver. A secondary ONU(40_1~40_n) transceives a message with the primary ONU by being serially stacked to the primary ONU. The primary ONUs are connected serially each other. The primary ONU and the secondary ONU respectively receive respective intrinsic IDs for identification. |
