PURPOSE: A brake device of a charpy impact testing device is provided to smoothly return a test piece from an original position by automatically controlling a clamping member, a brake part, and a clutch part. CONSTITUTION: A brake device of a charpy impact testing device comprises a drum, a brake part, and a clutch part. A Hammer is controlled by the frictional force. A shaft(5) is stopped with the brake part. The brake part is operated using pneumatic force. A shock transmitting part(6) is rotated with a rotating member. A controller makes the test piece return to an original position after testing by controlling the clutch part and the brake part.
