PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for maintaining reliability during data transmission are provided to prevent the loss of transmitted data by maintaining the reliability in data transmission. CONSTITUTION: Event information is received from a device connected through a communication network(302), and generation time information and data are extracted from the received event information. A message including the event generation point information is generated, and is transmitted to a device control server(304). When the network connected to the device control server is blocked, the event information received from the device is stored at a buffer(306). When the blocking operation fro the network connected to the device control server is released, the event information stored at the buffer is sequentially transmitted to the device control server(318).
