METHOD FOR PRODUCING GRASS HAVING DWARFISM

PURPOSE: A method for producing grass which drawfism is induced is provided to produce mutant grass and reduce labor. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing grass in which drawfism is induced comprises: a step of treating physical mutagen to a glass flower; a step of cultivating grass which is treated with the mutagen and collecting seeds; and a step of cultivating seed and selecting grass having induced drawfism. The grass is Zoysia spp. including Zoysia japonica, Zoysia matella, Zoysia tenuifolia, Zoysia macrotachya and Zoysia sinica. The grass is obtained by mutation. The physical mutagen is X-ray, γ-ray, β-ray or neutron beam.
