The inventive process for embossing holograms in plastic films by means of extruding machines includes the cast film method, which requires a cast film extruding machine in case of performing a monolayer extrusion, or cast film co-extruding machines in case of having a combination of polymers for forming a film in layers of different polymers. The process starts by feeding the extruding machine(s) using the hopper (s) thereof, then the polymers being led to cylinders where the same are molten therein and transported by means of a spindle towards a flow supplier in case of performing a co-extruding process, or transported directly to a flat-die in case of performing a monolayer extrusion, where the polymer (s), previously molten and having a curtain shape resulting from the flat-die, are brought into contact with a first cooling roller coated with a nickel shim, where the embossing of the hologram is performed in the film upon being solidified by the cooling effect; it is worthy to men tion that the main part of the process is the holographic melt embossing; the holographic film is then passed through a pressure roller and a second cooling roller, said film being subsequently transported by guide rollers, while the edges thereof are being cut, to a winding centre where the process is finished.
