<p>THE PRESENT INVENTION DISCLOSES A LINEARLY POLARIZED RADIAL LINE SLOT ANTENNA, WHICH IS PROJECTED FOR INDOOR WIRELESS LAN (WLAN) APPLICATION, PREFERABLY FOR THE 5.15 TO 5.25 GHZ APPLICATION. THE NEW SLOT DESIGN USES A NUMBER OF SINGLE SLOTS (10) FOR A LOWER GAIN AND SMALLER APERTURE DESIGN COMPARED TO THE CONVENTIONAL RADIAL LINE SLOT ANTENNA. THESE SLOTS ARE ARRANGED IN A CIRCULAR ARRAY TO FORM A SINGLE RING SLOTTED RADIAL WAVEGUIDE ANTENNA. THE ANTENNA MAY BE ARRANGED USING ONE, TWO, THREE OR FULL RING SLOT CONFIGURATION DEPENDING ON THE DESIRED RADIATION PATTERN. THE APERTURE EDGE OF THE RADIAL WAVEGUIDE ANTENNA IS SHORTED. A LOW GAIN AND SMALL APERTURE ANTENNA IS ACHIEVED THROUGH THIS DESIGN.</p> |
