PURPOSE: A control method for an air conditioner, and a navigation device using the same are provided to prevent pollutant of tunnel from inflowing to a vehicle inside, and maintain pleasant air within the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A navigation device(100) comprises tunnel information database(101), a GPS module(102), an air conditioner switching part, and an air conditioner control part(103). The tunnel information database stores tunnel information, such as tunnel length, location information. The GPS module calculates its own current position based on the location information and time information from multiple satellites. And the GPS module outputs the GPS module information, such as its current position, current speed, and time information. The air conditioner switching part switches an inner air circulation mode or an outer air mode. The air conditioner control part controls the air conditioner switching part based on the tunnel information and the GPS module information when a vehicle is entered to the tunnel.
