Equipment (30) for assembling a cavity door pocket (14) includes a support structure (32) and a receiving zone mounted on the support structure (32) for receiving first components (20, 22, 24) of the cavity door pocket. A fastener dispenser (44) is provided for dispensing fasteners. A plurality of fastener drivers (46) are associated with the receiving zone and arranged at spaced intervals. The fastener drivers (46) are in communication with the fastener dispenser (44) for fastening the first components (20, 22, 24) together into at least one subassembly (18) in a substantially automated manner. A storage unit (54) is provided for storing a plurality of further components (26), at least one of which is accessible. A picker unit (56) is preferably adjacent the support structure (32) for picking the accessible further component (26) from the storage unit (54) and for placing the accessible further component in an operative position. A securing arrangement (64) is provided for securing the accessible further component (26) and the at least one subassembly (18) together in a substantially automated manner once the accessible further component (26) has been placed in its operative position.
