Disclosed is a crystalline form of (-)-(1R,2R)-3-(3-dimethylamino-1-ethyl-2-methylpropyl)-phenol hydrochloride, with an X-ray diffraction pattern as described in the specification. Also disclosed is a process for preparing this crystalline form. Also disclosed is the use of the crystalline form for treating pain or urinary incontinence.
