PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and an authentication method thereof are provided to transmit image data from an external device and process the data. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of external devices is connected to a plurality of input terminals(110-1~110-n). A plurality of authenticators(120-1~120-n) executes the authentication with a plurality of external devices. A selecting unit(130) selects video data transmitted from a plurality of authenticators among authenticated an plurality of external devices from one external device. A controller(160) senses the input terminal to which external device is connected among a plurality of input terminals. The controller controls a plurality of authenticators in order to execute the authentication with the connected external device.
