The device has a reversible coupling unit (4) arranged between a key (2) and a lock (3) and fixed to the key in a dismountable manner for activating the key in left or right direction based on angular positioning of the coupling unit. The key is pivotably mounted on a rocker (1) for translationally controlling the lock, where the lock locks barrels of a firearm on the rocker. The coupling unit renders the key and the lock to be ambidextrous.
