A locking cap for a bolt is disclosed. The locking cap has three parts, a washer (1), a locking plate (4) and a cap (11). The locking plate (4) and the cap (21) are connected so the cap (21) covers the bolt head (2) when the locking plate (4) is engaged with bolt head (2). A foldable tab (5) connects the cap (21) and locking plate (4) with the washer (1). In use the bolt shaft is passed through a hole in the washer (1) and the assembly is tightened to lock the washer (1) position. The cap (21) and locking plate (4) are then folded down to cover and engage the bolt head (2). As the maximum diameter of the bolt head (2) is larger than the hole in the locking plate (4), the locking plate (4) deforms to conform to the shape of the bolt head (2). This prevents further rotation of the bolt head (2) relative to the washer (1). The cap (21) then protects the swaged connection and the bolt head (2).
