Slitting, opening and rolling up knitted tubular fabric for garments. Flatten tube has two fold edges, and is horizontally supported on a flat surface, across which it is advanced. One fold edge is cut. A stretching frame projects inward from the cut edge downstream of the cutter and contacts the inner opposite fold edge opposite the cutter, to retain transverse tension on the fabric as it is being cut. Apparatus is described.
