PURPOSE: A flame retardant composition is provided to ensure good dispersibility and fire retardancy, to improve coating performance on fiber and paper, and to avoid the influence of the color or surface property of fiber and paper. CONSTITUTION: A flame retardant composition comprises a flame retardant resin composition 100.0 parts by weight, magnesium hydroxide 10-40 parts by weight, aqueous acrylic group resin 10-30 parts by weight, diluent 30-80 parts by weight, dispersing agent 1-10 parts by weight and other additives 1-10 parts by weight. The particle size of the magnesium hydroxide is 100-1000 nm. The dispersant is at least one kind of acryl, fluoride, siloxane, water or naphthalene-based compound.
