ENCODER AND DECODER FOR ENCODING/DECODING LOCATION INFORMATION ABOUT IMPORTANT SPECTRAL COMPONENT OF AUDIO SIGNAL

PURPOSE: An encoder and a decoder for encoding/decoding location information about important frequency components of an audio signal are provided to efficiently display and encode location information of important frequency components in consideration of distribution of important frequency components. CONSTITUTION: A component extractor(810) extracts important frequency components which are targets to be encoded among frequency components of an audio signal. A location information encoding unit(832) encodes location information of the extracted important frequency components in consideration of distribution of the extracted important frequency components. When the important frequency components consecutively exist or does not exist, the location information encoding unit sets flag information as the pre-promised first identification value to encode the location information.
