PURPOSE: A general-purpose subscriber information storing apparatus for managing in a remote site through a wireless network, and a method for managing subscriber information by using the same are provided to make possible additional OTA(Over The Air) for new subscriber information files, thereby embodying smoothly the general-purpose subscriber information storing apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A storage unit(120) stores a subscriber information file and an access declaration file. The subscriber information file is accessible in a remote site. The access declaration file defines additionally the subscriber information file in the remote site. In case a request for access to the subscriber information file is received from the remote site through a wireless network, a controller(140) confirms whether the requested subscriber information file is defined in the access declaration file. In case the subscriber information file is defined, the controller accesses the subscriber information file.
