A rigid link for a conveyor chain includes a rigid platform to support a load and means to pivotally connect links to each other to form a chain and for pivotal movement about an axis substantially perpendicular to the plane of the platform. Means is provided to one side of the platform to coact with other like parts of like links when the links are joined together to form a chain to space the platforms of the links apart from each other when the chain is formed into a helix. A conveyor chain capable of formation into a self-supporting helix is provided from a plurality of such links articulated together. |
