PURPOSE: A method for tracking a moving object using characteristics of moving objects in an image camera system is provided to use characteristics such as extracted direction, color and texture in a selected moving object, thereby tracking a moving route of the moving object by all image cameras configuring the system. CONSTITUTION: A moving object that a user wants to track is extracted from an image photographed by an image camera. Characteristic information of the moving object is saved(S220). Characteristic information of the moving object is compared and updated by a frame unit(S230). A moving route of the moving object is displayed on a screen based on the comparison result(S240). Information of the moving object comprises at least one of direction information, color information, luminance information, texture information and size information of the moving object.
