PURPOSE: A compression ratio variable apparatus and an engine using the same are provided to change the compression ratio of a mixer by changing the mounting height of a crank shaft according to the operation condition of an engine. CONSTITUTION: A compression ratio variable apparatus comprises an operating cylinder(35) and an operating piston(40). The operating cylinder receives the hydraulic pressure according to the operation state of an engine. The operating piston is mounted within the operating cylinder to change the mounting height of a crank shaft(30) by the hydraulic pressure. The compression ratio variable apparatus changes the mounting height of the crank shaft according to the operation state of the engine, and the compression ratio of a mixer is changed.
