PURPOSE: A cellulose acetate film is provided to ensure excellent optical characteristics due to low thickness direction retardation, thereby being used for a polarizer, optical compensation sheet and liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A cellulose acetate film comprises at least one thickness direction(Rth) retardation depressant. In chemical formula 1, X is O or S; R1, R2, R3 and R4 are independently hydrogen, (C1-C7) alkyl, (C6-C20) aryl, (C3-C20) cycloalkyl, (C2-C7) alkenyl, 5-7 membered heterocycloalkyl containing at least one selected from N, O, and S, and (C4-C20) heteroaryl containing at least one selected from N, O, and S.
