<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect an input operation direction, based on a small change in the electrostatic capacitance of a transparent electrode. <P>SOLUTION: A noncontact input device includes: an electrostatic capacitance detecting part for detecting the ON/OFF of switches without having contact with the switches, based on the change of the electrostatic capacitance between a plurality of electrostatic capacitance detection electrodes, which are adjacently arranged in parallel, and an operation body to approach the transparent electrodes with respect to the movement of a hand on an insulation sheet; a timer for measuring the ON/OFF inputs of the two switches and time between their changes. The measured time and ON/OFF sequence are recorded. The feature of the recorded information is compared with previously registered data of a hand movement, so as to determine a coincident pattern in the noncontact input device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
