<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching device which is equipped with a remover formed by miniaturization and reduction in the output, and by which a circuit is surely cut off. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The switching device is equipped with a switch SE having an open/close body 1 at which a plurality of contact elements 5 are arranged and which closes the circuit by bringing the contact elements 5 into close contact with fixed contact elements 6 arranged and installed opposite to the contact elements 5 by movement from a first position to a second position, and a control part 8 which maintains the open/close body 1 at the second position when arriving at the second position corresponding to the open/close body 1. The switching device is further equipped with the remover AE which moves the open/close body 1 to the first position and then open the circuit by moving the control part 8 to the first position with an actuator 14 of the remover AE when the open/close body 1 and the control part 8 are located at the second position, respectively, and a predetermined condition to cut off the circuit is satisfied. When the predetermined condition to cut off the circuit is not satisfied, the actuator 14 and the control part 8 located at the second position are separated from each other by a predetermined spacing D.
