PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen inspecting instrument capable of being adapted, irrespective of the kinds of specimen sampling tubes from a specimen-extracting tube for immunochromatography by an immunochromatography method to a nucleic acid amplifying tube not especially restricted by a sandwich method or inhibition method, based on nucleic acid chromatography. SOLUTION: The specimen-inspecting instrument is constituted of an elongated backing sheet, the specimen liquid sampling part continuously superimposed on the surface of the backing sheet over the length direction so as to hold a specimen liquid display part, a conjugate pad part and an absorbing pad part. The specimen liquid sampling part comprises a water-absorbing flexible material and at least a part thereof is protruded from the end part in the length direction of the backing sheet. According to this constitution, the specimen inspecting instrument can be adapted even to a small specimen container, such as, the nucleic acid amplifying tube or the like and can be allowed to correspond regardless of the kind, shape and size of a tube storing an inspection liquid, such as, a specimen, a developing liquid, a specimen extract or the like to enable a test by using a small amount of the inspection liquid.
