PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head unit which can suppress occurrence of jamming, and to provide a liquid ejector equipped with this. SOLUTION: A cover 70 covering a side surface of the upstream side of an inkjet head 1 keeps a bottom surface 71 arranged on the same height as that of an ink ejection surface 2a. The cover 70 has a contact surface 72 formed on the inner surface 81, an inclined surface 73 formed on the outer surface 82, and a fixing part 78 which fixes the cover 70 to the inkjet head 1. When the cover 70 is fixed to the inkjet head 1, the inkjet head 1 presses the inner surface 81 of the cover 70 in a direction to be away from the upstream side surface at a position more distanced from the ink ejection surface 2a than from the fixing part 78 so that the contact surface 72 is excited in a direction to approach the upstream side surface of the inkjet head 1.
