PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device for enabling an operator to visually confirm an object more certainly than before by illuminating the object from a direction separate from the direction of the illumination light emitted from an endoscope. SOLUTION: The illumination device is equipped with a body part 11 attracted by the magnetic force generated from the magnetic force generator 66 consisting of a magnetic body and arranged outside the object A and the light emitting part 18 fixed to the body part to emit the illumination light toward the outside of the body part.
