PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new occlusive composition and methods of making and using the composition. SOLUTION: This invention describes the composition including an absorbable implantable vaso-occlusive member. Further, the invention describes the methods of making and using the absorbable vaso-occlusive composition. In one aspect, the invention includes the absorbable vaso-occlusive member including: (i) an absorbable material; and (ii) one or more stretch-resistant members fixedly attached to at least two locations of the absorbable material. The vaso-occlusive members described in this specification can have any three-dimensional shape, including, for example, J-shaped, straight, cylindrical, spherical, tube-like and helical coil.
