<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carboxylethyl cellulose which is water-soluble, contains very little carbamoylethyl group and is usable effectively as a chemically synthesized article; and to provide such a method for manufacturing a carboxylethyl cellulose as is efficient and has a side reaction suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The carboxylethyl cellulose is characterized by having the degree of substitution of a carboxylethyl group of 0.2-2.8, the degree of substitution of a carbamoylethyl group of 0.04 or less and the degree of polymerization of 2-3,000; and the method for manufacturing hereof is also disclosed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
