<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the following problem: performance is degraded by frequent switching between compression systems for recompression because of an overhead of the time for circuit reconfiguration though a circuit scale can be reduced by determining a compression system in accordance with an initial compression result and switching reversible and irreversible compression systems in a time division manner by a reconfigurable circuit and the like when recompressing data. <P>SOLUTION: An image processor includes a compression means which compresses image data per prescribed square by two kinds of compression systems and selects one compressed data in accordance with amounts of respective resultant compressed data and adds information indicative of the compression system and a flag indicating whether the selected compression data is near a boundary of the selection or not, to the selected compressed data and outputs the selected compressed data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
